Richard J. Sagall, MD, President

Rich received his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo. After completing his family practice residency at the Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor, ME, he practiced family medicine and occupational medicine there for nearly 20 years. During that time he began NeedyMeds. He and his wife moved to Philadelphia where he practiced occupational medicine and ran NeedyMeds.

Rich has written articles on assistance programs and occupational medicine topics for a number of publications. He has given presentations on patient assistance programs and occupational medicine throughout the country.

Bill Kyrouz, Database Research Associate

Bill works on a number of databases, including State-Sponsored Programs, Application Assistance, and Free/Low-Cost Clinics. Bill received his BS in accounting from Suffolk University and was a CPA for 29 years. Prior to joining NeedyMeds, Bill worked as an appeals officer for the IRS.

Bill and his wife were raised in Gloucester and have resided there since 1972. They have three adult children and five grandchildren. When not at NeedyMeds, Bill enjoys his grandchildren, following local/regional sports and walking along Stacy Boulevard.


Robin Hoffman, Director of Operations

Robin oversees the day-to-day operations and is our resident graphic designer. Her background is in typesetting, graphics and the newspaper industry. Robin grew up in Ohio and has lived in upstate New York and Vermont, where she worked for graphic design firms, newspapers, and a TV station. Robin moved from Vermont to Massachusetts in 2009 where she earned her B.S. in Graphic Design at Northeastern University. She has two grown children, a son and a daughter, three grandchildren, and enjoys living (and fishing) in Gloucester with her husband.


Samuel Rulon-Miller, IT Manager

Samuel provides IT support - overseeing servers, computer and software networking, telephone system, database programming, and troubleshooting as well as designing Filemaker database scripts and structures.

Samuel graduated from Gettysburg College in 2008 with a degree in religion. When not working at NeedyMeds, Samuel spends his time working on a variety of music projects. He lives in Gloucester, MA.


Damaris Mercedes Hernandez, Bilingual Helpline / Database & Research Manager
dee Damaris is NeedyMeds' Database & Research Manager as well as our bilingual staff member, assisting in helpline calls from Spanish-speaking callers. She took college classes in IT and is interested in continuing her education in social work as well. Damaris lives in Lynn, MA with her husband and is the mother of four children. She brings enthusiasm, a very helpful presence and great snacks to our office.

Alanna Hendrickson, Office Manager / Fulfillment
alanna Alanna was born in Gloucester, MA and currently resides in West Gloucester. In her free time she likes to read comic books, plays video games, enjoys baking, playing with her dog Walter, and spending time with family and friends.


Peggy Pepler, Call Center Counselor
peggy Peggy moved to Gloucester after being a long time resident of Rhode Island. She has a BS in Administration of Justice from Roger Williams University. She has many years of experience in a call center environment. In her free time she likes to spend time at the ocean, knitting and visiting her family in Rhode Island.


Ruthie Rowe, HR Coordinator / Accounting Assistant

Ruthie graduated with honors from North Shore Community College with an A.S. in Paralegal studies and from Suffolk University in Boston, MA with a BS in applied legal studies. She has a strong customer service background and enjoys helping others. Ruthie was born in Gloucester and lives with her son, two cats and large frog collection. In her free time she likes to read and enjoy the ocean, but her favorite thing is spending time with her boy.


Dianne Officer, PAP Database Associate
dianne Dianne grew up in the Bay Area of California and has lived in Alaska, Florida, Michigan, Vermont and Massachusetts. She decided to move to the Northeast after living through the 1980's drought, escaping the Oakland, CA firestorm of 1991, without a scratch, and then surviving the California Loma Prieta 7.0 Earthquake of 1989. She now resides in Gloucester, MA with her husband and daughter.


Evan O'Connor, Research Associate / Social Media Manager

Evan grew up in Gloucester, MA and is back living in town after completing his BA in English at Salem State University. Evan manages the NeedyMeds social media pages and is the writer for our blog, The NeedyMeds Voice. He also fulfills co-branded drug discount card printing and distribution for our partners. When not working at NeedyMeds, Evan enjoys reading, writing, listening to music, playing video games, and spending time with his girlfriend and their dog.


Leah Zaroulis, Database Research Associate/Call Center Counselor/Safe Needle Disposal Project Manager
leah Leah is the Research Associate for the Discount Drug Programs and also answers helpline calls. She has a BA in History from Roger Williams University. Her professional background is in library services and she has also worked as a freelance reporter for her local newspaper. Leah enjoys helping others with their information needs. Her interests include going to concerts, reading, visiting museums and spending time with family and friends.


Fred Witte, Accounting Manager
Fred Witte
Fred handles the bookkeeping duties for NeedyMeds. He retired to Rockport in 2009 after a career in various financial management roles in communications corporations. His love of classical music is principally demonstrated in singing with community choruses such as Heritage Chorale in Framingham, Chorus North Shore in Ipswich and Cape Ann Symphony Chorus. He may also be found singing Christmas Carols in a quartet dressed in Victorian garb at local restaurants, nursing homes, senior centers, etc. in late November/December. Fred serves on the Board of Cape Ann Symphony and volunteers at The Open Door and Rockport Music.


Lourdes (Lou) Garcia, Bilingual Helpline / Research Associate
Lourdes Garcia
Lou is one of our bilingual staff members, assisting in helpline calls from Spanish-speaking callers. In the research department, she works on updating the Imaging Centers database. Born in Monterrey, N.L. Mexico, she has lived in the United States since 1984. She studied Journalism and Spanish while attending U.A.N.L. (Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon) in Mexico, Louisiana Tech University and Minot State University in North Dakota. After completing a CNA course at North Shore Community College, Lou worked as a HHA and CNA for 10 years with the elderly, mainly with Alzheimer's and dementia patients. The mother of three grown children, Lou enjoys meditation, movies, reading and spending time with her children, friends and family when she visits Mexico.


Carla Dellaporta, Director of User Engagement
Carla Carla is the Director of User Engagement at NeedyMeds. Her professional background has been entirely dedicated to non-profit organizations from New York City to Cape Ann, MA. In her role, she educates people about NeedyMeds and the healthcare savings and educational resources offered, expands partnership efforts and works to improve the experience of those that turn to NeedyMeds for assistance. Carla spends her free time chasing after her oversized and very energetic dog, Benjamin.


Sam (Sal) Landry, PAPTracker Sales Manager / Database Research Associate
Sam Landry
Sam is the PAPTracker Sales Manager as well as a database research associate. His previous work experience includes improving online databases and general maintenance of the data. Sam has a special interest in Hepatitis C, as he believes anyone who does qualify for the expensive treatment should receive it, regardless of income or ability to pay. He was born and raised in Gloucester and Rockport and has lived his whole life on "the island". In his free time Sam likes to play card and video games and throw the frisbee for his dogs—even though they never bring the frisbee back.


Bill Nardone / Database Research Associate
Bill Nardone
Bill works as a Database Research Associate on updating Medical Center or Clinic information. Bill received his BA in Math, and his MAEd from Boston State College, and worked as a middle school Math and Computer teacher for the City of Boston. While there he also started a sailing club and taught navigation and charting to his Roxbury middle school students, and cruise with them on his sailboat on a US Coast Guard Auxiliary accompanied trip from Gloucester to Boston Harbor. Bill also taught sailing to his East Boston students on Boston Harbor. After finishing his teaching career Bill began a new career as a real estate agent which he continues in addition to his work at NeedyMeds.

Bill and his wife moved to Gloucester in 1998. They have 2 adult children who enjoy having Gloucester in their blood. Bill still enjoys any time he can spare to be at, on or near the water.


Dana Walker, Call Center Counselor
Dana Walker Dana has several years experience in the customer service industry. She assists our callers in giving a helping hand. Dana was born in Connecticut but spent the majority of her childhood in New Hampshire and moved to Gloucester, MA in 2001. In her spare time she enjoys beachcombing, baking and hunting for bargains. She is also an avid reader with an appreciation of music.


Michael Woods, M.D., Editorial Associate
Mike Woods, M.D. Michael Woods, M.D., received his medical degree from Tufts University and completed a pediatric residency at Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania. He practiced pediatrics for 27 years in Maine and Massachusetts. Before joining HealthWeb Navigator he was the editor of Consumer Health information at EBSCO in Ipswich, MA.


Carlos (Charlie) Pagán-Muñiz, Website Developer
Carlos Pagan-Muniz
Carlos works as NeedyMeds' web developer and is part of our bilingual staff. Originally from Mayagüez, PR where he grew up, played/coached soccer, played in numerous bands and got his BA in Physical Education from the University of Puerto Rico. He moved from Puerto Rico to Massachusetts in 2017 because of the hurricane Maria. In his free time, he enjoys working on music projects, watching soccer, reading books and spend time with his wife.


Kim Anderson, PAP Database Manager
Kim Anderson Kim is the PAP Database Manager at NeedyMeds. Her professional background has included marketing, graphic design, and retail sales. In her role at NeedyMeds, she focuses on finding new PAP programs and maintaining existing ones. In her free time, she enjoys painting, refinishing furniture, and spending time with her family.


Nancy Bubeck, Call Center Manager
Nancy Bubeck A native of New Jersey, Nancy lived in Boston for 30 years before moving to Rockport six years ago. She works in our Call Center, utilizing her years of experience in social work and human resources to help our callers. She is a graduate of Stockton University and Harvard University, and enjoys the ocean, gardening, home improvement projects, and travel.


Kanitah Conley, Database Research Associate
Kanitah Conley Kanitah was born in Utah and lives in Gloucester with her husband and three children. In her free time she enjoys the beach, attending her children's sporting events, and spending time with family and friends.


Kaly Brown, Mail Desk Associate / Database Research Associate
Kaly Brown Kaly splits her time at Needymeds between the mail desk and research department. Kaly was born and raised in Gloucester graduating from Gloucester High School in 1999 and Salem State University in 2003. Kaly still resides in Gloucester with her husband and two daughters. When she is not cheering on her daughters during one of their many sporting events, she enjoys planning her next family vacation.
