Ankylosing Spondylitis

The Ankylosing Spondylitis Diagnosis Information Page is a collaborative project of NeedyMeds and the Spondylitis Association of America. It is intended to provide information on Ankylosing Spondylitis and to help those with Ankylosing Spondylitis find assistance paying for their medications.

Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) is a form of arthritis that primarily affects the spine, although other joints can be involved. It causes inflammation of the spinal joints that can lead to severe, chronic pain and discomfort. In the most severe cases, the spine becomes fused in a fixed, immobile position, sometimes creating a forward-stooped posture.
