The Lymphedema Diagnosis Information Page is intended to provide information and resources to help people living with Lymphedema.

Lymphedema is the abnormal buildup of fluid in soft tissue due to a blockage in the lymphatic system, causing swelling in one or both or your arms or legs. This blockage in the lymphatic system, which is part of your immune system, is most commonly caused by the removal of or damage to the lymph nodes as a part of cancer treatment including, but not limited to, cancers that affect the urinary tract, bladder, kidneys, prostate, testicles, and penis. There is no cure for lymphedema. However, Lymphedema can be managed with early diagnosis and care of the affected limb.
