Eligibility Guidelines

Program Details

For the first the recipient will be an incoming EKU freshman that has a documented Specific Learning Disability of Reading and / or Dyslexia. Documentation should include a diagnosed Reading Disorder (Dyslexia) from a qualified professional and must be on file at the Office of Services for Individuals with Disabilities (OSID) or submitted with the application form. The OSID will determine eligibility. For the second, the Recipient must be a current EKU student, completing at least one academic year and/or have attempted 24 credit hours at EKU. Student must also have on file with the Office of Services for Individuals with Disabilities, documentation which includes the diagnosed Reading Disorder (Dyslexia) from a qualified professional. If documentation is not on file, please attach to application. The EKU Disabilities Office will determine eligibility. Two scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded to Eastern Kentucky University students who have a documented learning disability in reading and/or dyslexia. One scholarship will be awarded to an incoming freshman, the second to a current student in good academic standing
