• Question: Am I eligible to participate in the NeedyMeds Drug Discount Card program if I have prescription insurance?

  Answer: The NeedyMeds Drug Discount Card is not valid in conjunction with prescription insurance. But, it may be used to receive a discount on medications not covered by your insurance. Some people have found it cheaper to not use their insurance coverage and pay for the medicine using the drug card.

• Question: How does the NeedyMeds Drug Discount Card differ from a prescription plan?

  Answer: The NeedyMeds Drug Discount Card is not an insurance plan, but provides patients with discounted rates on prescriptions. When this card is presented with a valid prescription to your pharmacist a discounted price is provided.

• Question: Does the NeedyMeds Drug Discount Card require enrollment?

  Answer: No enrollment or registration is required. Simply present the card with your prescription to any particpating pharmacy to receive a discount.

• Question: I just printed my NeedyMeds Drug Discount Card from the website. When can I begin using it?

  Answer:Immediately. Simply present the card with your prescription to any particpating pharmacy to receive a discount.

• Question: Can more than one person use the same card?

  Answer: Yes. The same card can be used by as many people as you wish. Every card has the same ID number.

• Question: If I participate in Medicaid, Medicare, Medicare Part D, or another state or federal program, I am eligible to participate in the NeedyMeds Drug Discount Card program?

  Answer: The NeedyMeds Drug Discount Card is not valid for patients using Medicaid, Medicare, including Medicare Part D, or other state or federal programs to pay for their medications. However, you can use the card if you don't use any other program to pay for the medication.

• Question: Can I use the NeedyMeds Drug Discount Card to receive a discount on over-the-counter medications?

  Answer: Yes, if the over-the-counter medication is accompanied with a valid prescription it will be eligible for a discount under the NeedyMeds Drug Discount Card.

• Question: How about pet medications?

  Answer: Yes - the card may give you a discount off medications for your pets.

• Question: How can I find a participating pharmacy?

  Answer: Over 52,000 pharmacies accept the NeedyMeds Drug Discount Card. Please contact NeedyMeds at drugdiscountcard@needymeds.org if you can't find a local participating pharmacy.

• Question: I have a question that's not listed here. How do I get an answer?

• Clip out the card.
• Give the card to the pharmacist along with your prescription.
• The pharmacist will tell you how much you saved using our drug discount card.
